There are very few restrictions to joining the School. However, two ingredients are required, if the student hopes to get the best from the teaching: Interest - interest in the art and the principles upon which it is built and respect - respect for the source of knowledge and what it has taken for successive Yang Style masters to preserve this system so that people today have the opportunity to learn the art.
Tai Chi Chuan requires a mature mind that recognises the value and importance of looking inwards for solutions and personal progress, rather than looking outside of oneself for these answers. Tai Chi Chuan offers the student the tools to work on and develop him or herself as well as offering a rare opportunity to share some of the marvels of the history of this classical Chinese martial and health promoting system.
Applications for midweek classes are considered from any interested person over the age of 18 years.
However, in the event of genuine interest being shown by any person, below the age of 18 years, applications will be considered on the individual merits of the case, in close consultation with the parent(s) or legal guardian. The priority here, though, must be the welfare of the child/young person, not just for any immediate wishes, but also with respect to their future needs and opportunities.
All students must be familiar with the Rules of the School , and hold them close and be prepared to uphold them.
All students are also required to be members of the National Tai Chi Chuan Association
(NTCCA) and abide by the Rules of the Association. Please therefore visit the NTCCA Website at:

There are no fees to join the Association.
The Application Form for membership of the Association will be forwarded to the school, since it contains sections that apply to the application for membership to the NTCCA as well as membership of the School. This information will not be shared by any third party.
